Short Film by Bob CJ
Music Composed by John Luther Adams
Says Bob CJ: "Producing a silent work in response to an Alaskan composer
was a new experience for me. John Luther Adams’ musical search for a
"resonance of place" has intrigued me for many years. Our paths first
crossed when I documented his live performance of "Earth and the Great
Weather" in Anchorage in 1995. In my own work, creativity often takes a turn
toward the abstract; I am intrigued by the moment when an observer may,
voluntarily or unexpectedly, become a participant.
"Echoes of Inhabitance" is my search for a resonance of creative spirit; my
investigation, conducted in and around Adams’ studio cabin located in the
boreal forests close to the Arctic Circle, created an unintentional
documentation of the space at the beginning of its last year of active use
by the composer."
